A person posing for the cameraDescription automatically generatedJosiane is a human rights activist, with a keen interest in issues related to young women’s leadership, gender and social justice.  Josianeholds a Master’s degree in Ethics and Governance, with a focus on Human Rights, and an MSc in Public Law from the University of Cocody, Felix Houphouet-Boigny, Abidjan-Cote d’Ivoire. Josiane is also a Graduate of a certificate programme in International Human Rights delivered by the International Institute of Human Rights, Strasbourg-France.

Josiane is currently the Program Officer-Youth and Peace Education at the West Africa Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP).

Josiane has previously served as a Program Officer at Organisation des Femmes Actives de Cote d’Ivoire (OFACI), an Ivorian women-centred organization and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) Office in Cote d’Ivoire as a Programs Staff. More recently, Josiane served as Programs Officer at Moremi Initiative for women’s leadership in Africa.

 

Over the past 10 years, Josiane has developed valuable experiences in projects and programs management, including design, planning, delivery and reporting. Through her experience, Josiane has developed the capacity to work with bilateral and multilateral development agencies, government and other public and civil society institutions.

 

In 2012, Josiane was nominated as a member of the West African Women Election Observation (WAWEO)Team where she had the opportunity to observe elections in a number of West African countries from a gender perspective.

Josiane is a very determined and positive person. She shares the vision of a West African region where human rights are paramount and where democracy and development are promoted on the principle of inclusion.
