WANEP Internship [Vacancy for only Francophone]

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

WANEP encourages young professionals and peacebuilding practitioners from all over the sub-region to get involved in its internship program.

Aims and Objectives

  1. To develop and build capacity of young professionals in peacebuilding and conflict resolution.
  2. It is an educational program that allows students working in the area of peacebuilding to gain practical experience under supervision.
  3. To ensure that skills and knowledge acquired during internship is used to address contextual realities in countries of origin of interns.

Guidelines for Application

Eligibility: The individual should be pursuing a degree program in courses related to peacebuilding, humanitarian relief, human rights, development studies and any other field related to peacebuilding.

Application: Application should come with a recommendation letter from an Institution or person involved in any of the aforementioned fields. The letter should comment on how long they have known you and in what capacity they have observed your work; Applicant should be of African decent and living in Africa.

Duration: Duration of internship with WANEP will be three months.

Responsibility of Intern

  • An intern will be required to work a minimum of 35 hours a week.
  • Will be required to participate in field activities to expose them to realities of peacebuilding.
  • The Intern will be expected to submit a 15 page report after end of internship on his/her experience with WANEP.
  • Interns will be appraised at the end of their internship. Copies of this will be sent to institution where intern is coming from.
  • Do Research
  • Read materials, analyse data and write reports.

Responsibility of WANEP

  • Professional interns would be encouraged to participate in WAPI during or after their Internship
  • Induction and orientation program will be drawn up to enable them to understand workings and programs runned by WANEP
  • The Intern will be attached to a Program and will be supervised directly by administrator and staff in charge of program to which intern will be attached
  • WANEP will pay interns a monthly honorarium during the period of internship
  • WANEP will provide Air Tickets for Interns from outside Ghana.
