Theme: Strengthening National Capacities for Managing Electoral Disputes

In the framework of the Star-Ghana funded project entitled: Skills for Citizenship Awareness and Conflict Resolving Transition (S4CACRT), WANEP has successfully completed a two-day forum for 20 Eminent Persons selected from the 10 regions in Ghana.
The activity was held at Miklin Hotel in Kumasi on August 13 and 14, 2012 for distinguished persons including Traditional Institutions (Chiefs and Queen Mothers), Religious Bodies and Reputable Civil Society Actors with the clout to convene and facilitate dialogue and mediation to transform political disputes in their respective regions. A total of 13 women (65%) and 7 men (35%) actively participated in the consultative forum. The methodology used was participatory and real life case studies of political conflicts were used during the sessions allowing the participants to carry out practical mediations in preparation of same ahead of the December 2012 polls.
