WANEP Regional Board Meets – 12th to 14th October 2011
In line with the constitutional provision of WANEP which stipulates that its Board shall meet for a minimum of twice in a year; the WANEP regional Board held its 2nd meeting for 2011 from the 12th to the 14th of October at the Best Western Premier Hotel in Accra Ghana.
At the meeting, the Board received and acted upon the administrative, program and financial report from the WANEP regional secretariat. The Board further took the opportunity of the meeting to provide useful advice and direction on the running of the network at both regional and national secretariat and empowered WANEP regional Management team to undertake some policy reforms aimed at the growth and development of the network.
The board commended the management and staff of WANEP at both regional and national secretariats for their dedication and giant strides since the last board meeting and reminded them that expectations of the various West African communities WANEP serve are enormous especially as many countries in the sub region are experiencing some levels of fragility and brittleness.
