Quick Update:- Dix-sept (17) morts dans l’éboulement de mine d’or à Norassoba dans la préfecture de Siguiri

Au moins 17 personnes ont péri dans un éboulement survenu dans la soirée du dimanche, 03 février 2019 aux environs de 19 heures, dans une mine d’or deFradjani, district relevant de la sous-préfecture de Norasoba, dans la préfecture de Siguiri. Selon Alpha Kabinet Doumbouya, vice maire de la commune rurale de Norassoba, 17 corps ont été sortis du trou et les recherches sont toujours en cours. C’est une ancienne mine d’or, maintenant le lieu est exploité par des machines qui chargent les camions bennes. Hier, après ces machines, les mineurs ont accouru pour descendre dans

The West Africa Network for peacebuilding (WANEP) has followed with concern current security challenges in Ghana and more recently the Ayawaso West Wuogon By-Election organised by the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana on 31st January 2019, following the death of the Member of Parliament of the Constituency, Emmanuel Kwabena Kyeremateng Agyarko, in accordance with the provisions in the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana.

The Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) office at Oyigbo LGA in Rivers State was reportedly set ablaze by suspected hoodlums 1 . Several chairs were reportedly destroyed in the incident as investigations have commenced to ascertain the real cause of the fire incident.

The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana organised by-election for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency due to the seat being vacant following the death of the Member of Parliament (MP), Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko, on November 21, 2018. The by-election was slated for 31st January, 2019.
